SHIRT of the WEEK #5

Ok so I took a break from everything and now I'm back with the next shirt of the week!

This is a personal favorite and in my opion wraps up what surfing should be, and once was. Without getting on a shoebox (or whatever the hell that saying is) I'll just go on a quick rant about surfing today; it seems like everybody takeing it way too seriusly. I though surfing was all about having fun and riding waves, but I see all these guys & girls out in the water on surfing there firewire thrusters on a knee high slop day all sorts of agro, surfing every wave like they gotta get the best video part in the newest high budget surf flick and if they flail on a wave the 6 digit sponsorship is over. Now don't get me wrong I love high performance surfing and if you can kill it go right ahead, but on a knee high mushy closetout wave?

Now that I got that off my chest lets get back this shirt. if you didn't know Earl (my dad) lived out in Maui in the mid 70's. He had a photo and printing studio out there and used to make alot of posters and things for local business. He can't remember exactly where he got this image from but he used for a couple of posters or something back in the day. We think the image dates way back but we can't put anything exact on it. All thats clear is that some Hawaiian dude is riding a wave, not puting a huge air or throwin' a crazy cutback, just riding a wave.

WAVE SLIDIN'.... check out his classic stance

by the way it looks like we got some surf in the gulf this week too. it's just knee high chop though so you should probbly leave your thurster at home.
