We've been low key the last couple weeks but that's only because we gots lots happenin in the weeks to come.

One thing in particular is the next installment of CARLSFEST.



Long time u.b.c. crew member and official party adviser to almost all u.b.c. events Captain Carl hosts one huge night of debauchery & chaos around the end of October every year. People come from mile's around to attend this mess of a party and it never disappoints. This year he's taking it to a whole other level and we're more than happy to help...
Carl's putting together an all day scavenger hunt and a few live bands to throw down at the evening festivities as we speak. Things are still being finalized so check back on the official u.b.c. goodtime blog or at therealangler.com/events/

Here are some details:
Where- The Bar: Downtown St. Petersburg
When- October 23rd
Why- Because you need this
Scavenger Hunt- Be ready to hunt at noon on the 23rd. Up to 4 person teams, $10 a head. Email all questions or team info to Carlsfest7@yahoo.com
The Party- If you don’t do the scavenger hunt there is a $6 cover at the door.

The Scavenger Hunt Team check in and Meeting will start at noon on October 23rd. Get there and don’t be late!! Bring a camera phone.

One more thing about last week's recap... at some point during lunch Thursday Brando made his mind up that it was officially time to cut his hair. When we got back to the beach Scott busted out some surgical scissors & adam went to town on b's dreddies outside the truck on the side of A1A... I took the liberrty of video taping the event with my phone.

Huricane Earl Recap Part 3

Friday we didn't even try to wake up early and didn't bother rushing to the beach because for some reason we all thought the swell peaked yesterday evening. Really wish we had a clue what was gonna happen because I & pretty sure everybody else woulda taken it alot easier the day before & not ran ourselves right into the ground that night. When we pulled up the ground was rumbling and the average wave was well overhead and CLEAN. I grabbed a couple pics and then we made out first attempt out totally underestimating it and getting our ass's handed to us on the paddle out, the clean up sets we're rolling in at a solid 10 foot plus and they just kept coming. We made it to the outside and had a crazy good morning of surfing, wish I coulda stayed out all day but like I said we not knowingly ran ourselves into the ground the day before either way it was a classic Florida hurricane swell & everybody had a blast.

Huricane Earl Recap Part 2

Thursday we woke up way to late, eventually we got moving. When we finally made it to Juno to find solid head & clean, so for the first time I can think of since I started this blog I finally took some pictures before I hit the water. So I did my best to get some shot's but unfortunately the telephoto lens broke so I had to make the best of what I had... anyway all morning was good and then around noon the tides changed and it all started getting funky so we went in for lunch... oh yeah so when we got there that morning somebody (we'll keep his name out but it starts with a b) decided to drop one in the dunes. I don't know if it was the coffee or what but he dropped the gnarliest poop and he did it in the dunes right where the truck was parked. Now the smell was bad enough when he first did it but when we got back to the truck this smell was sooooooo raunchy I can't even think of something to compare it to after a few hours baking in the Florida sun the smell was absolutely unbearable we couldn't get out of there fast enough, so the hole moral of this story is if you do need to go & there's no bathroom around at least take a little walk away from where ya parked.

I got off track for a second sorry but when we got back from lunch we parked in a new spot of course and went back out all thought the tide really got a hold of it & it was just mushy and barely breaking outside. It did make for some damm good skim though, so we hung out grabbed some pics and waited for things to work out which eventually made for a really fun session that lasted till a little after dark.

Just now finally drying out from the labor day hurricane weekend. I finally took some pics & I got all sorts of fun stuff to talk about but I'm sunburned & still sore so I don't feel like covering it all right now so I'll start with the night before the swell arrived and how amped we we're gettin' about the Earl Swell... better yet I'll just post the footy of Brando getting amped I think that sums it up.
