Vilano Recap

Last weekend we packed up the u.b.c. skim team & headed north to Vilano Beach for the 2010 Florida Skimboarding Pro/Am. The waves weren't anything to write home about but it was still solid knee to occasional waist high on shore which made for some fun skim. Saturday afternoon a crazy lighting storm rolled thru and caused the event to be on hold for a few hours which then resulted to an impromptu move down the beach where the skim was looking better, the only problem was the sun was just about down & due to lack of time they had to run heats in what soon became the dark, but not being able to see the waves didn't stop ryan from advancing to the semmi's the next day. Overall there was some fierce competition but the team held their own real well, nobody made it to the finals but there's always next year right.

Ryan's New Board

Ryan got a new skim board from wave zone the other day so we took it out to the front yard for a test run just before a gnarly storm came... luckily we got a couple pics before the storm dumped on us & almost killed my camera.
